New Delhi: Delhi batsman Yash Dhuli Will lead 20 member Indian team in upcoming Under-19 Asia Cup Program to be held in UAE from 23rd December BCCI announced on Friday.
There will be a preparatory camp in Bengaluru ahead of the tournament and the governing body has also formed a 25-member team, consisting of five stand-by players.
“The All India Junior Selection Committee has selected a 20-member Indian Under-19 team for the upcoming ACC Under-19 Asia Cup to be played in the UAE from 23rd December,” the governing body said in a statement.
“The selectors have also announced a 25-man squad for a preparatory camp at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru from December 11 to 19, ahead of the ACC event.”
Dhul was the highest run-scorer in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy earlier this year. The team averaged 75.50 for its 302 runs for DDCA in five matches played during the tournament.
The board, however, said that the Indian squad for the Under-19 World Cup to be held in the West Indies in January-February next year would be announced later.
Two-time defending champions India have won the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup six times in the last eight editions, sharing the trophy with Pakistan in 2012.
