Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler start-up Simple Energy has announced that the deliveries of its flagship electric scooter, the Simple One, will start from June 2022. The Simple One is powered by a 4.8 kWh lithium-ion battery that offers a maximum claimed range of 236 km, with a normal claimed range of 203 km in Eco mode. Top speed is claimed 105 kmph, with a claimed top speed of 0 to 40 kmph in just 2.9 seconds. The Simple One has 72 Nm of torque and 4.5 kW of power and comes with a curb weight of 110 kg and boot space of 30 liters.

The Simple One can be charged using the company’s upcoming Loop charging network. There will be options for fast and slow charging.

The Simple One electric scooter will be produced in the first phase of the company’s manufacturing unit located in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The manufacturing facility will have an annual capacity of up to 1 million units. According to Simple Energy, the factory is currently getting ready for large-scale construction, and will be operational in the coming weeks. Simple Energy has also commissioned a second plant in Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu, spread over 600 acres and with a capacity of 12.5 million units (1.25 crore) annually, making it the largest two-wheeler production facility in the world.
