New Delhi:
Demonstrations took place at May Day sites across the country against moves by French President Emmanuel McCarthy’s government to reform pensions. 108 were injured in the violence in this demonstration. 291 people have been detained by the police across the country.
Minister Gerald Darmanin said that such a large number of policemen injured in May Day protests had rarely been seen. He said that one moonshiner’s face and hand were burned when a Molotov cocktail came atop it. However, he is out of danger and there is no threat to his life.
