Andrew Tait supporters claim to have a Twitter position with the Taliban. (Credits: Twitter)
Samira Khan, who calls herself an ‘anti-awakening journalist’, claimed to have had a Twitter spat with the Taliban who, according to her, were ‘concerned’ after Tet’s arrest.
Anti-feminist influencer Andrew Tate, who was arrested by Romanian authorities on December 29 on suspicion of human trafficking, had the Taliban “worried” about him, according to Samira Khan, a self-styled “anti-vigilante journalist”. “We are hosting a Twitter space with the Afghan Taliban to discuss the detention of Andrew Tate. They’re worried about Andrew Tate and they’re asking us if he’s free yet. They say Westerners need Andrew Tate because we are oppressed by feminists,” Khan wrote in a tweet.
“Free Top Ji”, he added in another tweet. ‘Top G’ is a nickname Tate’s fans have given him. Tate calls himself ‘Top G’, which in Internet parlance means ‘Top Gangster’. He has said that ‘top ji’ means ‘a person competent in all fields’ or competent in every field.
Journalist Otto English shared a screengrab of Khan’s tweet and wrote “It really happened”.
Khan wrote in a tweet on 31 December, “The Taliban in space are concerned about Andrew Tate and are asking us if he is still free.” claimed in another tweet.
Later, Khan posted an email he had received from Twitter saying that people in Germany had reported one of his tweets in this matter. After investigation, Twitter did not find the content of the reported tweet subject to removal. “This whole website is full of p*****s,” Khan wrote in a tweet,
Andrew Tate was taken into custody in Bucharest, Romania, along with his brother Tristan Tate as part of a human trafficking and rape investigation. The Council of Europe, through Greta, the group of experts on action against human trafficking, last year urged Romania to effectively prosecute human trafficking.
