A viral video of Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath talking about extensive walking as part of the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra has provided new weapon to the BJP as it physically assaults the opposition party. Have urged not to force sick people to walk.
In the purported video, the 76-year-old is seen sitting in front of a religious preacher and says, “We have been dying for seven days. There are two principles, walking from 6 in the morning and walking not less than 24 kms in a day(We are dying for the last seven days. There are two principles, wake up at 6 am and walk at least 24 km a day)
congress leader Rahul Gandhi Recently visited two major temples during Madhya Pradesh leg of Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Commenting on the video, BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra launched a scathing attack on the Congress and urged Rahul Gandhi not to force physically ill people to such an extent that it calls for them to die. I pray that Rahul Gandhi does not force physically ill people to walk in the yatra so much that people start talking about dying. Please ensure that your program is not harmful to anyone,” he said.
Along the way, Gandhi has been raising various issues, notably unemployment, demonetisation and the effects of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), while alleging that the wealth in the country is concentrated in the hands of just three-four industrialists.
Political observers have noted that the Gandhi-led movement is being closely watched as it has raised hopes of party workers and supporters ahead of next year’s assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh.
