Diesel prices hiked for second day in a row; petrol remains unchanged

This is the second consecutive hike in diesel prices after Sunday.

Diesel prices were increased by 26 paise across the country on Monday, while there was no change in petrol prices for the 22nd consecutive day. Diesel prices have increased for the second consecutive day and three times in the last four days, raising its retail price by 70 paise per litre. Petrol prices in Delhi remained stable at ₹101.19 per liter, according to a notification from the country’s leading oil retailer – Indian Oil. On the other hand, diesel is now selling at Rs 89.32 per liter after a hike of 25 paise.

Here are the petrol and diesel prices in six major metros as on September 27, 2021:

In Mumbai, the price of diesel increased by 26 paise to Rs 96.94 per liter from Rs 96.68 per liter while petrol is being sold at Rs 107.26 per litre. Buyers in Kolkata will now have to pay Rs 92.42 per liter for diesel while petrol will cost Rs 101.62 per litre. In Chennai, diesel prices rose by 24 paise to Rs 93.93 per liter, while the retail price of petrol is Rs 98.96 per litre. Auto fuel price in Bangalore is ₹ 104.70 per liter and ₹ 94.80 per liter for petrol and diesel respectively.
