Preparations for ‘Deepotsav’ are in full swing in Ayodhya.

Preparations for the grand Deepotsav are in the final stages at Ram ki Paidi Ghat in Ayodhya on Wednesday evening before Diwali. Efforts will be made to make a record by lighting 9 lakh diyas in the entire Ayodhya city.

Ayodhya SSP Shailesh Pandey said, “There is a seven-layer security system from outer to inner circle of the city. Police, Special Operations Group and Special Security Force have been deployed to strengthen Ayodhya. We have seen several policemen in civil. Forty boats with life-saving equipment have been deployed on the Saryu river ghats.”

Security has been beefed up recently after receiving a letter written by a terrorist commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) threatening to blow up 46 railway stations, including Ayodhya.

The city limits have been sealed and entry of vehicles has been banned except VIP and official cars, which are required to be parked a kilometer away from Ram Katha Park.

Special duty officers have been deployed to ensure safe movement of ambulances.

A grand procession was rehearsed on Tuesday before the main program on Wednesday. Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma will flag off the Yatra from Saket College Ground.

Around 200 artists and artists from across the country and SAARC countries will participate in the Shobha Yatra, during which they will depict scenes from the Ramayana.

In Ram Katha Park, special guests will be welcomed with Vedic chants.
