The general council meeting of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) will be held on June 1 in Madurai.
A resolution to this effect was passed at a meeting of the party’s district secretaries, chaired by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M.K. Stalin, at the DMK headquarters ‘Anna Arivalayam’ on Saturday (May 3, 2025).
The members also resolved to hold 1,244 meetings across the State to highlight the achievements of the DMK government over the past four years, with the theme: ‘Glorious four years lauded by the nation. Let it continue for many years to come.’
Another resolution passed during the meeting condemned the BJP government for misusing agencies, including the Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax Department, against members of the Opposition over ‘vendetta politics’. It said the DMK would tackle the action of the ED against its partymen legally, and would take the BJP’s ‘misuse of power’ to the people’s forum.
Another resolution extended greetings and appreciation to Mr. Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, and other ministers, as the DMK government steps into the fifth year of its current term.
The meeting also passed resolutions expressing condolences for the victims of the Pahalgam attack and the death of Pope Francis.
