DMRC says almost entire staff of Delhi Metro vaccinated against Kovid-19

While some have been fully vaccinated, others are in the process of taking their second dose. About 14,500 people are employed in DMRC.

“Only a small percentage, around 0.5% of the staff, are yet to be vaccinated, mainly for medical reasons,” the DMRC said.

This is a great achievement as many employees of DMRC are engaged in public dealings and their vaccination process was given top priority by the management.

Delhi Metro has been conducting COVID-19 vaccination camps for its employees and their families since May. These camps were organized at stations, depots and construction sites, officials said.

The coronavirus pandemic had severely affected the services of the Delhi Metro and the urban transporter suffered huge financial losses during the lockdown period, when services were suspended for several months.

During the last 24 hours, 78,443 doses of COVID vaccine were administered, out of which 26,892 beneficiaries received their first shot, while 51,551 beneficiaries received their second dose.

According to the health bulletin, a total of 2,11,25,734 vaccine doses have been given so far. Of these, 1,32,76,215 beneficiaries have received the first dose of the vaccine, while 78,49,519 beneficiaries have received the second dose.

Compared to Friday, the COVID-19 situation in Delhi improved on Saturday with no deaths and the number of cases coming down to 56 in the last 24 hours.

According to the bulletin provided by the state health department, the positivity rate for the day is 0.10%, down from 0.12% on Friday. 58,483 tests were conducted on Saturday, up from 49,974 tests conducted on the previous day.

During the last 24 hours, 66 people have recovered from the infection while there have been zero deaths due to the virus, taking the active COVID cases in the national capital to 361. Of this, 155 are in home isolation.
