Do class 10 board exam marks make your career? These IAS officers shared ‘bad’ marksheets and inspired students

Whenever it comes to IAS officers, there is a perception in the minds of people that they must have always been the toppers in their classes. But, this assumption has been proved wrong. Over the past few months, several IAS officers have put up their marksheets on social media, in an attempt to change the parents’ obsession with their children’s scores and ranks in schools.

Recently, IAS Shahid Choudhary, who is the secretary in the Department of Tribal Affairs, posted his class 10th marksheet which has gone viral. in the earlier case An IAS officer Avneesh Sharan shared his class 10th marksheet On Twitter in which he passed from the third division and it impressed the netizens.

IAS Shahid Choudhary, who cleared the Jammu and Kashmir State Board in 1997 with first division, recently posted a picture of his marksheet on Twitter. “On students’ demand, this is my class X marksheet which is ‘graded’ since 1997! 339/500,” wrote Choudhary along with a screenshot of his marksheet.

As per the marksheet, Choudhary did not get top marks in class 10. He got 70 marks in English, 71 in Urdu and 88 in Science. But he got only 55 marks in each subject in Mathematics and Social Studies.

Choudhary’s result shows that he was an average student in class 10th, but eventually rose to the rank of a renowned IAS officer. It shows that anyone can achieve success in life regardless of their academic performance and that grades are not the only measure of one’s knowledge.

Shahid Choudhary’s post, which has gone viral, garnered over 6,500 likes and has been retweeted over 430 times. The motivational tweet also received an avalanche of reactions from social media users.

In another incident, Avneesh Sharan, a 2009 batch IAS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre, shared his class 10th marksheet from 1996, when he passed the Bihar School Examination Board.

He had secured 44.85 per cent marks by securing 314 marks out of 700 marks. The IAS officer tweeted his marksheet on July 6 and has garnered over 31,000 likes and 3,060 retweets.
