Former India batsman Sanjay Manjrekar said that he does not like the angry side of Jasprit Bumrah. Manjrekar’s remarks came after Bumrah was involved in an on-field brawl with Marco Janssen on the third day of the India vs South Africa second Test at the Wanderers in Johannesburg. Bumrah was caught in the 54th over by a short-pitch delivery from Jensen. The Indian bowler also suffered injuries on his arm and shoulder when he could not connect. It was at that time that Bumrah exchanged a few words with the left-arm pacer from South Africa. The umpires swung into action before the matter went ahead. Bumrah, who hit a six in the next over off Kagiso Rabada, was soon dismissed by Lungi Ngidi.
Manjrekar said that he likes the smiling Bumrah, who does not lose his cool in such situations.
“This angry thing is interesting. It happened in England too. I don’t like this side of Bumrah. It’s a side of Bumrah that I don’t want to see too much. I love it when things get really heated, He has a smile on his face, like he usually does.” Manjrekar told ESPN Cricinfo,
Bumrah, who was very impressive with the ball in India’s 113-run win over South Africa in the first Test at Centurion, has been a bit off his standards in this ongoing Test.
The right-handed batsman took just one wicket in the first innings, while he is yet to open his account in the second innings (till the end of three days’ play).
Manjrekar said he was not worried about Bumrah’s control, but he was a little surprised to see the 28-year-old not making a remarkable move off the pitch in Johannesburg.
“There is no problem with Bumrah not having any control. He will always pitch the ball where he wants to. I am a little worried that nothing is happening after the ball wants to pitch where it is. I want to see With the ball going backwards, jagging back from the seam or barring a right-handed batsman, I would like him to use the crease a little more.

“The number of times Shardul Thakur hits the bat shows that Bumrah is not getting enough response from the pitch for some reason,” he added.
The second Test match is equally set with South Africa needing 122 more runs and India looking for 8 more wickets. The first session of the fourth day got washed out due to rain.
