Drunk men stab brothers and sisters in Delhi’s Dwarka, 1 dead: Police

New Delhi:

A 33-year-old man was stabbed to death while his brother was seriously injured, police said on Sunday.

The deceased brother has been identified as Lohit and the injured 32-year-old Anil, who is undergoing treatment at the hospital. Both are residents of Bindapur.

Police said the accused have been identified as 30-year-old Rohin and 25-year-old Varun and have been arrested.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) M Harsh Vardhan said that the police received information about a stabbing incident at a fish market in Sector 3’s JJ Colony at around 1.10 pm on Saturday.

When the police reached the spot, they found two people in injured condition, and they were immediately taken to the hospital.

During treatment, Lohit was declared brought dead by the doctors. Anil is undergoing treatment and is out of danger.

Police said a case under sections of murder (302), attempt to murder (307), and 34 (common intention) was registered at Bindapur police station and investigation was launched.

During the investigation, the team visited the spot and examined the CCTV footage installed there and the surrounding areas.

The footage showed two men on the spot, who were shown to police informers and kept on surveillance, the officer said.

He said that both the men were tracked down in Sector 3, C-Block, JJ Colony of Dwarka and arrested from there.

According to the DCP, the accused revealed that they were under the influence of alcohol at the fish market, and had an argument with the two brothers, during which he stabbed them.

Police said a push-button knife and blood-stained clothes were recovered from the accused.
