The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) on Monday seized unaccounted cash worth Rs 8.4 lakh from the car and office almirah of an Avin officer in Perur.
The directorate said in a release that the surprise inspection was carried out at the Aavin office in Peru.
It said that senior factory assistant A. Krishnamurthy took bribes from his associates out of their dues. A total amount of ₹ 8,40,000 was seized from Krishnamurthy’s car and his almirah.
The release said that Rs 5,90,000 were found in his car while Rs 2,50,000 were found in his wardrobe.
