Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted citizens on Constitution Day on 26 November and shared a part of BR Ambedkar’s speech in the Constituent Assembly on Twitter in which he introduced a resolution for the adoption of the draft Constitution.
Constitution Day is celebrated to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution by the Constituent Assembly in 1949.
Prime Minister Modi tweeted, “Greetings to our citizens on Constitution Day.”
Shri Modi also shared a part of Ambedkar’s speech in the Constituent Assembly on November 4, 1948 in which he moved a resolution to adopt the Draft Constitution as decided by the Drafting Committee.
Speaking at the Constitution Day celebrations in Parliament, Mr Modi remarked, “Constitutional sentiment is hurt when political parties lose their democratic character,” adding that, “Dynastic parties care for those committed to the Constitution. subject of.”
“Look at the dynastic political parties from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, it is against the democratic spirit,” Modi said.
“If the party is run by one family for generations and the entire party system is with one family, then it is the biggest problem for a healthy democracy,” he said.
At the same event, while paying tribute to the security personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, the Prime Minister said, “26/11 is a sad day for us as the enemies of the country have killed terrorists in Mumbai. Executed the incident.”
The event, organized as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to commemorate 75 years of India’s independence, was boycotted by the opposition parties.
