Economics graduate turns into ‘chaiwali’ after not getting a job

Ever since the pandemic started, we all have faced all kinds of problems. Some of us struggled to earn the minimum, while others were fired from their jobs, and some got none. However, as time passed, we saw that many people are slowly and steadily starting their business and thriving. Recently, one such inspiring story of Economics graduate Priyanka Gupta has created a flutter on the internet. Well, if you wonder why, let us tell you. After completing her graduation in 2019, Priyanka Gupta did not get a job for two years. That’s when the woman was inspired by the story of Prafulla Billor, better known as “MBA Chaiwala”, and opened her own tea shop outside the Women’s College in Patna!

Talking to ANI, Priyanka said, “I did my UG in 2019 but could not get a job in the last 2 years. I took inspiration from Praful Billor. There are many chaiwalas, why can’t there be one chaiwala?”

Ms. Gupta offers a wide range of Tea. The cost of a cup of tea ranges from ₹15 to ₹20 and ranges from kulhad chai to paan chai. For just ₹10, a customer can have tea with a plate of cookies! On the menu card, she described her effort as “an initiative towards a self-reliant India”. The famous line “People will think” is also written on one side of the menu card. Next to that he also added, “Lo what will you think, if we think this too then what will people think? If we think like this then what will people think?”

As the story is doing the rounds on the internet, many people have reacted to it. One person said, “You are so inspiring.” Another person said, “Today she is at a nascent stage and has started a new small business but who knows she will one day be an inspiration to thousands of people.”

Someone also added, ‘Wisdom comes late, yet knowledge is more useful. Feeling bad for him as he has lost his two years, if he had chosen this path or some other way of earning, things would have been better earlier. No work is small or big. However, many people were also concerned about the employment situation in India and expressed their concern for the same.
