EV technology company, EKA today announced that it has signed an MoU with Bengaluru-based battery startup Log 9 Materials to offer a fast-charging battery solution. Notably, Log9’s RapidX batteries originally used for electric buses and SCVs come with a 15-year warranty and long cycle life (over 15,000 charge-discharge cycles) in India. These are powered by batteries insta charge Battery technology that enables less than 30 minutes of charging time on both EKA’s LCV and e-bus platforms, according to the company’s claims.
The company says that the Log9 battery will be available in the market in the coming 3 to 6 months. After the launch of the respective vehicle platforms, EKA and LOG9 will target to deploy at least 10,000 Instacharged LCVs and 200+ e-buses within a year. Initially, the vehicles will be deployed in Mumbai and Pune metropolitan areas.
