Election officials who checked the BJP Tamil Nadu president’s room, vehicles and helicopter at Annamalai have said there was no violation of the model code of conduct on their part.

In a press release, Udupi Returning Officer Seetha said Annamalai reached Udupi in a helicopter at 9.55 am on Monday. A team of officials inspected the helicopter and the bag, which did not find any material that violates the model code of conduct.

The SST team again inspected the Udyavar check post after declaring their intention to visit the Kaup constituency after leaving the hotel. Annamalai reached the Ocean Pearl Hotel near Kadiali around 2 pm and was inspected at every level, in which no violations were found.

The statement was issued after KAP’s Congress candidate Vinay Kumar Sorake had alleged that Annamalai had brought a huge amount of cash by helicopter to be distributed to people in Udupi.
