Manchester United are currently third in the Premier League standings behind leaders Arsenal and defending champions Manchester City
The Glazers family, the current owners of Manchester United Football Club, sensationally announced in November last year that they would be putting the club up for sale. The news soon started a buzz and several parties appeared in the race to become the new owner of the popular club.
INEOS chief executive Jim Ratcliffe announced earlier this year that he was looking to take control of Manchester United. and now, Elon Musk The Premier League are reportedly taking steps to bid for the side.
a report published in daily Mail claims that the second richest man in the world by Forbes is currently looking at an ownership position in the English club.

The report further states that according to multiple sources, Musk is assessing the latest development. It is learned that the billionaire is considering whether there is an opportunity that should not be missed.
Musk talked about the possibility of buying Manchester United last year.
He jokingly suggested that there was strong interest in buying the club.
After a political tweet he shared about American parties, Musk said, “Also, I’m buying Manchester United ur [you’re] Welcome.”

However, Musk later clarified that his earlier tweet was part of a ‘long running joke’. “No, this is a long running joke on Twitter. I’m not buying a sports team,” Musk tweeted.

The latest reports also suggest that dozens of interested parties have already expressed their willingness to buy Man United and have also signed agreements to gain access to confidential data about the club.
The Glazers family reportedly bought Manchester United in 2005 for US$942 million. His association with the club was not fruitful, however.
The American owners faced a severe backlash for inflicting a heavy debt burden on the club. Furthermore, the poor form on the field in the recent past has angered the fans.

The American owners are now set to sell the club, with the Rhine Group responsible for overseeing the takeover process. The Old Trafford-based outfit’s last piece of silverware came in 2017 when they beat Ajax to win the Europa League under former manager Jose Mourinho.
Erik ten Haag has the chance to end Manchester United’s six-year trophy drought in his first season in charge.
The club is in search of four trophies this season. Manchester United are third in the Premier League with 46 points.
