Elon Musk says new Twitter policy will follow and question science

Elon Musk said that the new Twitter policy will not only follow science but also question science.

San Francisco:

Speaking to social media, Elon Musk on Wednesday announced that the new Twitter policy will not only follow science but also question science reasonably.

“Twitter’s new policy is to follow the science, which necessarily includes reasoned questions of science,” Musk tweeted.

In a follow-up tweet to his initial policy statement, Musk said, “Anyone who says that criticizing them amounts to doubting the science itself cannot be considered a scientist.”

No further details of the plan have been released yet.

Ever since Elon Musk took over as CEO of Twitter, he has been making headlines for his social media presence.

Twitter’s CEO has finally spoken out about his promise to resign from his position after Monday’s vote. Taking to the microblogging site, Elon Musk tweeted, “I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job!”

The multi-billionaire said that afterwards, he would only run the ‘software and server team’.

The post garnered several reactions from netizens.

Twitter CEO Elon Musk launched a poll on the microblogging site on Monday, December 19, asking users whether he should step down as the head of the social media platform and also promised to follow up on the result.

Elon Musk said on Twitter, “Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will follow the results of this poll.”

Within minutes of Musk’s cryptic tweet asking users whether he should step down as head of the social media platform as well as promising to follow up on the outcome, ‘yes’ votes began pouring in. Which reached 57.5 percent.

In response, Musk said, “As the saying goes, be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it.”

The poll comes after Twitter announced Sunday that it would ban accounts used to promote other accounts on specific social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and Mastodon.

Furthermore, Twitter said it still allows cross-posting of content from any social media platform. “It is also not a violation of this policy to post links or usernames on social media platforms not listed above.”

The change in Twitter’s rules comes at a time when Musk has faced some criticism for making major policy changes on the platform.
