Elon Musk says Twitter meddled in elections and failed trust and security

Prior to his ownership, Twitter “interfered in elections,” Elon Musk said.

Twitter CEO Elon Musk claimed in a tweet on Wednesday that Twitter interfered in elections and has long been unreliable in terms of security.

Backing up critics who claim that social media platforms have enormous potential to influence politics in the United States and around the world, he wrote: “Exactly. The plain reality, as longtime users know, It’s that Twitter has failed to trust and interfered in security and elections for far too long.”

Musk, however, did not name the particular polls that he believed were influenced by the inadequacies of the social media platform.

In the same tweet, Mr Musk included the promise that, under his guidance, Twitter 2.0 would become more efficient and open.

“Twitter 2.0 will be far more efficient, transparent and fair,” he said.

Meanwhile, Elon Musk tweeted that misunderstandings about Twitter possibly being removed from Apple Inc’s App Store were resolved following his meeting with iPhone maker CEO Tim Cook.

“Tim was clear that Apple never considered doing this,” the billionaire CEO of Twitter and Tesla Inc said in a tweet.

On Monday, Musk accused Apple of threatening to block Twitter from its App Store without explaining why, in a series of tweets that also said it had stopped advertising on the social media platform.

He later tagged Cook’s Twitter account in another tweet asking, “What’s going on here?”

Twitter and Apple did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Musk’s latest tweet. Apple has not publicly responded to Musk’s earlier tweets.

Among the list of complaints tweeted by Musk on Monday was Apple charging up to 30% fees for in-app purchases, with Musk posting a meme suggesting he’d “go to war” with Apple rather than pay the commission. Was ready for.
