Bitcoin was created in 2009 by an anonymous individual named under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto, whose identity still remains a mystery. In a recent interview, Tesla CEO Elon Musk named computer scientist Nick Szabo as the anonymous creator who may have been the brain behind the birth of the world’s first cryptocurrency. Musk was being questioned on Lex Friedman’s podcast when he made the statement. Musk also revealed that people often suspect him of being the originator of bitcoin, a claim he has so far denied.
Clarifying that he was “apparently” unaware Nakamoto’s The real identity, Musk said, is that Szabo ticks all the boxes that indicate he may be the anonymous founder of bitcoin.
