EPFO credits 8.50% interest to 22.55 crore account holders for FY 2011

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has credited an interest rate of 8.50 per cent to 22.55 crore account holders for the financial year (FY) 2020-21, the retirement fund body announced on its official Twitter handle today.

“For the financial year 2020-21, 22.55 crore accounts have been deposited with 8.50% interest,” EPFO ​​said in a tweet.

EPFO in a circular dated October 30, 2021 announced the declaration of interest rate for the year 2020-21 for Employees’ Provident Fund member accounts.

“The Ministry of Labor and Employment has approved the credit of interest at the rate of 8.50 per cent for the year 2020-21 to the account of each member under Para 60(1) of the Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme, 1952 with the approval of the Central Government. EPF Scheme as per the provisions of Para 60 of the EPF Scheme, 1952,” the EPFO ​​said in its official circular.

Here are 4 ways EPFO ​​members can check their PF balance online

1) To check the balance, EPFO ​​members have to type EPFOHO UAN ENG and SMS it to 7738299899.

2) Registered users can send a missed call to 011-22901406 after which they will receive an SMS with PF account balance details.

3) Registered users can also check PF balance through EPFO ​​website

4) You can also access your PF passbook on UMANG app after logging in with your UAN and OTP.
