Ernakulam Rural Police frees Ayurveda company owner from Tiruppur

In an inter-state operation, the Kunnathunadu police rescued a man from Nellikuzhi and arrested three men who had allegedly abducted him and took him to Tiruppur. Those arrested are 43-year-old Binesh from Ottapalam, 40-year-old Siva alias Arumukhan from Tiruppur and 33-year-old Srinath from Kanjikodu.

The kidnapped man runs an Ayurveda company and was approached by the accused allegedly under the guise of starting an Ayurveda business in Tamil Nadu. When he reached Coimbatore to discuss the business proposal, the accused allegedly kidnapped him in a car.

He was allegedly taken to an undisclosed place in Tiruppur and beaten up. Then they called up his son and threatened to kill his father if he did not pay the ransom of 42 lakhs. The son lodged a police complaint following which District Police Chief (Ernakulam Rural) Vivek Kumar formed an investigation team.

The team rescued the person from Tiruppur. Though the accused tried to run away with her in the car, they were chased by the police team.

Binesh has cases of theft in Ottapalam and kidnapping in Alathur, Kollam and Tiruppur. Siva has kidnapping cases in Alathur and Kollam. A team comprising Inspector VP Sudhish, Assistant Sub Inspectors AK Raju and Bobby Kuriakos, Senior Civil Police Officer Abdul Manaf, and Civil Police Officers KA Subir and TA Afsal made the arrests.
