The AIADMK on Wednesday announced that former MLA KS Thennarasu would be its candidate in the upcoming assembly elections. By-election for Erode (East) Assembly Constituency
announced after Inauguration of party’s election office Several MLAs were present along with former ministers KA Sengottaiyan, P Thangamani, SP Velumani, KP Munusamy and others, at Perundurai Road in Erode.
Mr. Thennarasu, 65, was elected to the Erode assembly constituency in 2001 (before delimitation) and the Erode (East) assembly constituency in 2011. He is also the secretary of AIADMK Erode Urban District MGR Mandram and secretary of Erode. (East) Assembly Constituency since 2011.
Party sources said Mr. Thennarasu is running a screen printing business and has been in the party for a long time. He is also the secretary of the Erode District Loadmen’s Association and has held various positions in the Trade Association, Printing Processing Association and Petroleum Dealers Association.
