Aavin has stockpiled butter and skimmed milk powder for reconstituting milk in its dairies. It has taken steps to ensure uninterrupted power supply to all the plants and 600 bulk milk coolers. “Water proofing and security measures have been put in place at all our facilities.”
As far as milk collection centers in the societies are concerned, additional collection systems were already in place for farmers in remote areas. This is done by the societies themselves. Vehicles collect milk cartons, transport them to cooling centers and return the cans. Aavin has directed the farmers to ensure that the cattle are kept in dry heated sheds.
