Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum district administration has decided to conduct random checks to see whether the building owners are following the approved plan or not.
DC Vijaya Jadhavi Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) Common Notified Area Committee (MNAC), and Jugsalai Municipal Council (JMC) Formation of separate teams to visit commercial and private buildings in their respective areas on daily basis.
“The job of the concerned municipal committees will be to physically verify the implementation of the approved structural design,” the DC said in a press release.
The owner of the building, if found guilty of using the basement for commercial purpose or constructing additional structure to alter the building plan, will face legal action accordingly. Jharkhand Municipal Act2011.
The municipal body of the area will give prima facie notice to the building owner and a specific time period will be given to voluntarily demolish the unauthorized construction.
Failure to do so will result in disconnection of water and electricity connections to the building.
The utility services will be restored only after the building owner gets a fresh No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the municipal body of the concerned area.
For the purpose of monitoring, a 13-member panel will be constituted at the district level, while the municipal bodies will submit the action taken report every fortnight.
Officer-in-charge of all police stations of all the three municipal bodies have been asked to co-operate with the local body teams during the anti-illegal construction/diversion exercise.
