The tourism sector across the world, after battling the pandemic, is now trying to breathe properly and get back on its feet. Not only this, these areas are also digging up new possibilities which will fortunately expand.
The following suite is the Tourism Department of Andaman and Nicobar Administration which is now exploring and developing new attractions for tourists. As United News of India reports, the department is tracking the unexplored areas on the picturesque island and channeling resources towards them.
Tourism is one of the most contributing sectors when it comes to employment and revenue generation in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. To kickstart this change, Jitendra Narayan, Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration, traveled to South Andaman to explore new tourist destinations on the island.
According to the report, among the new locations identified is Sunset Point in Manjeri region of South Andaman. The place, which offers a wonderful view of the sunset, will also provide many other facilities that will attract people, and subsequently promote tourism. The administration has arranged for things like sit-outs and eco huts and has also decorated the place with flowers and pewter blocks.
In addition, some vantage points stretching from Marine Park to Corbyn’s Cove will also be modified to make them more welcoming to tourists. Not only facilities, but also various activities will find a place in these newly discovered tourist destinations. The administration believes that these upcoming places will have a positive impact on rural tourism and provide livelihood opportunities to the local residents.
There have also been other developments in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, as a result of which the place has become more accessible. This includes the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Island Connectivity Programme, a 26-km-long stretch constructed by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
