Facebook has announced 2022 Community Accelerator participants in India. The 2022 Community Accelerator Program is a four-month program that will provide training, mentorship and funding to select community leaders in Facebook Groups for an initiative that increases the impact of their community. This year the program received over 4,800 applications from around the world.
Selected community leaders will receive a grant of up to $40,000.00 (USD) per community through T-Hub, the program’s implementation partner in India. Community leaders will learn from experts through a customized curriculum and individual coaching to help them organize and strengthen their communities. They will have access to knowledge-sharing sessions with fellow top community leaders, and the opportunity to network with key players in the industry. Lessons will include community identity foundations, leading action-oriented communities and sustainability to build the best digital communities possible.

The program will help community leaders learn how to build an engaging community using different content formats. A key experience this year will be for participants to identify an initiative that will help deepen the impact of their community by mobilizing members around a goal and creating a development plan to be implemented in 2023. These community leaders will also get an opportunity to cooperate. Advocates and other leaders in the community-building ecosystem to bring their ideas to life.
The Community Accelerator Selection Committee looked for communities that would most benefit from our unique programming and have the potential to be fully involved in the program. The selection was based on several parameters including purpose, leadership experience, consistency and commitment. Participants represent a diverse range of communities and solve many global challenges related to entertainment, travel, food, gardening, parenting, empowerment, and more.
