Facebook has introduced a new set of tools for group admins to curb the spread of misinformation. The Meta-owned social media platform announced that these new tools are another step against false information, as the company tries to stop the spread of misinformation. These features will not only help in identifying fake information but will also help in reducing the workload of group administrators and ultimately make them more efficient in managing groups.
admin support This is the first new feature introduced by Facebook. This feature gives administrators the ability to automatically reject posts that are in a group that contain false information.
The “mute” functionality has been renamed to “suspend” and improved for admins and moderators to not only mute, but also to temporarily suspend group members from participating in group chats . This includes posting, giving feedback, commenting, and even creating or entering a room in a group.
Facebook has added another feature that enables administrators to automatically approve or decline member requests based on certain criteria. This feature will make it easier for admins to manage their groups.
In addition, the admin home design has also been updated with a new overview page on the desktop. For mobile, a new layout and an insight summary have been added to it.
Admins will be able to download or copy/paste from the share menu and advertise their groups as Facebook has also added QR code support. On scanning the QR code people will be directed about the group, where they can join or request to join the group. In addition, an option has also been added for admins to send email invitations to people to join their groups.
