Farmers: Agricultural organizations form panels for talks with the government, to continue the agitation. India News – Times of India

New Delhi: Agitators Farmer The unions on Saturday decided to continue their protest till they get a “formal and satisfactory written response” from the Center on six of their demands, which include a legal guarantee for MSP. He also formed a five-member committee to talk to the government and work to resolve pending issues like withdrawal of cases.
Withdrawals of over 55,000 estimated cases registered against farmers Compensation to the next of kin of those killed during the year-long protests, by various state police forces and railways, seem to be the two most prominent demands at the moment. Most of the cases (about 48,000 claimed by the unions) were registered in Haryana, the remaining cases were reported from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Maharashtra. Rajasthan Rajasthan and Delhi.
Farm unions will meet again on December 7. The SKM said its five-member team will hold talks with the government to resolve pending issues and it is not a response to the Centre’s invitation to be part of a committee to discuss agricultural issues. “This five-member committee will also decide on state-level teams, which may have to work with certain state governments on certain issues (including their demands such as withdrawal of cases and compensation).”
However, the Center has not yet invited the unions for any talks. Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) through its decision on Saturday sought to suggest a way to at least end the protests at the borders of Delhi. Many participants believe that this approach will also be necessary in view of the upcoming hearing in the Supreme Court, which they feel may now have a more insistent view on blocking highways and toll gates after the repeal of the laws.
SKM leader Darshan Pal said, “Leaders of all farmers’ unions have a firm view that they will not go back and the agitation will continue till the cases against the farmers are withdrawn.” The action was taken in the wake of an informal message from the government to send five names to a proposed committee to look into agriculture-related issues, including MSP.
Farmer leaders are understood to have discussed the issue of withdrawal of cases as a top priority in their meeting on Saturday.
