Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain’s broken guitar is nearly sold 5 crores in one auction. A busted Lefty Black Fender Stratocaster electric guitar was sold at an auction in New York for $600,000, many times its original estimate.

The auction house said it expected the instrument to sell for $60,000 in front of a live audience at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York City.
Instead, it went for $595,000, an “astonishing” total, Julian said in a statement.
“You can see here that when he slammed the guitar, it was broken where the neck connects here, as well as down below where he slammed the guitar,” Frederick told AFP in early May.

Cobain struggled with drug addiction and depression, and his relationship with his wife, Courtney Love, was tumultuous.
He took his own life in April 1994.
The three-day auction, which ends on Sunday, also includes memorabilia from the careers of Eddie Van Halen, Elvis Presley, Freddie Mercury, Bill Wyman and Janet Jackson.
