FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup celebrations in Cuttack on 11 January

Odisha will organize several big sporting and cultural events across the state, including the host cities of Bhubaneswar and Rourkela, ahead of the Hockey World Cup.

Men’s FIH Hockey World Cup-2023 will be organized from January 13 to 29 in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela.

Much-awaited event, to ensure smooth functioning of Odisha Play Secretary R. Vinil Krishna reviewed the preparations for the grand event at the venue on Saturday.

Odisha has always played the role of the perfect host, setting a benchmark and dazzling the global sports audience with its spectacular hosting of the 2018 Hockey World Cup. Excitement is running high in Cuttack for the upcoming World Cup.

The Sports Secretary emphasized that this time also all efforts should be made to make this event exemplary. He advised the officials present to work closely with the Hockey Federation to ensure that the city is ready to welcome the World Cup event and that spectators have a great experience.

Dedicated fire, security and health teams will be deployed a few days before the festival to ensure a safe and incident-free event. Traffic management and crowd control were discussed in detail.

To make the tournament memorable for both the participating teams and common citizens, the state government is going to organize several mega sports and cultural events across the state including the host cities of Bhubaneswar and Rourkela.
