Final answer key JEE Mains session 2: NTA releases final answer key; results to be OUT on Saturday | Mint

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Mains Session 2 Answer Key. The agency also declared that the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main session 2 result 2025 will be declared by tomorrow, April 19.

Candidates’ All India Rank (AIR) for JEE Mains will be decided on the basis of both the rounds of the exam, i.e., the January and the April session.

JEE Mains Session 2 Answer Key: Time, direct link

The NTA released the JEE Mains Session 2 Answer Key  a little after 2 pm on Friday, April 18. Candidates can now check it from jeemain.nta.nic.in

Earlier on Thursday, the NTA released the final answer key of JEE Main session 2 at jeemain.nta.nic.in but removed it a few hours later, after several errors were highlighted.

JEE Mains Session 2 Answer Key: Which questions were dropped?

A total of two questions were dropped – one from the domestic (April 3 shift 1) and one from the international paper (April 2 shift 1). Based on these changes, the NTA published the revised final answer key on Friday.

The result was also expected by April 18. However, it has now been clarified that students will get the result by tomorrow, April 19.

JEE Mains 2025 Result: Expected cut off

The cutoff for JEE Mains 2025 will be out once the final results are declared on April 19, Saturday. However, going by previous year trends, the cut off for various categories for this year is likely to be as follows:
Unreserved (UR) – 100.0000000 to 92.3362181

Gen-EWS – 93.1312650 to 79.6467818

OBC-NCL – 92.2312696 to 79.6457881

SC – 92.2312696 to 62.0923182

ST – 92.2312696 to 47.6975840

The NTA will declare the JEE Mains Result for 2025 on Saturday, April 19. Once announced, candidates will be able to check their results from the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in

Once declared, candidates can check their JEE Mains Results for 2025 by entering the following details:

JEE Mains Result 2025: How to check

Candidates can check the JEE Main 2025 result by following these steps:

  1. Go to jeemain.nta.nic.in.

2. Open the session 2 scorecard link

3. Enter your login details and submit

4. Check and download the result.

The NTA posted on X, “The Final Answer Keys of JEE (Main) 2025 Session-II will be available for download on the JEE(Main) website by 2 PM today, i.e. on 18th April, 2025. The result of JEE(Main) 2025 will be declared latest by 19.4.2025. This is for information to all candidates.”

JEE Mains Result 2025: How will the All India Rank (AIR) be decided?

Candidates’ AIR for JEE Mains 2025 will be decided on the basis of both rounds of the exam. JEE Main 2025 was held in two rounds this year – January and April. 

If a candidate has appeared in both sessions of JEE Main 2025, their best score out of the two will be used to prepare the final merit list and All India Ranks (AIR). 

JEE Mains Result 2025: Can I apply for rechecking?

There is no provision for rechecking or re-evaluating JEE Mains Results.
