Shimla: Six workers were killed and 13 others were seriously injured on Tuesday when a firecracker factory exploded at Gurpala near Bathri under Tehliwal industrial area in Himachal Pradesh’s Una district.
According to the District Emergency Operation Centre, Una, the fire broke out at 10.15 am due to the explosion in the factory in the industrial area, killing six people and injuring 13 others who were rushed to nearby Sian Hospital Bathery .

Police and district administration officials reached the spot to take stock of the situation.
Una Superintendent of Police Arijit Sen said that the cause of the fire is being investigated.
According to sources, around 30-35 workers were inside the factory at the time of the blast.
Some workers managed to escape in time, but about 20 of them could not.
On receiving the information, the administration dispatched the fire brigade and after a lot of effort, it was brought under control.
