Fired ex-Google employee reveals “the worst part”

A former Google employee has documented the moment she learned she was laid off by the tech giant. In a video uploaded to YouTube and TikTok, Nicole Tsai, who was a program manager at Google, revealed that she found out she was fired when she woke up to an “ominous” text message from her boss and the company I found my reach. The former Google employee said she spent most of her day crying and reading through LinkedIn about other employees who were affected by the layoffs. She said she started getting calls from her co-workers as well as finding out who else had been let go.

“I think the worst thing is that it looks like no one was consulted on this decision, and everyone was finding out about the layoffs at the same time. It’s a very bad game of Russian roulette. At the end of her video, Ms Tsai also said she felt “so tired of being depressed” that she decided to go to Disneyland to lift her mood. She also said that she is not sure what she will do next.

Meanwhile, according to linkedin pageMs Tsai had been working at Google since July 2021. In her post, she said that she was “completely blindsided” upon learning that she was being let go, but added that “there is some comfort in knowing that I am not alone”.
