The Telangana State Haj Committee (TSHC) will make all arrangements for the pilgrims from across the state at the Haj House, where they will stay before leaving for Saudi Arabia.

According to TSHC, the first flight will depart from Hyderabad tentatively on June 7. This year, Tata Group-run Vistara will fly the pilgrims to Jeddah, instead of Saudi Airlines.

“We will soon make arrangements for Haj Camp 2023 where pilgrims will stay at Haj House. Preliminary meetings have been held and a full fledged inter-departmental meeting is expected soon. While pilgrims from Hyderabad generally do not stay at the Haj Camp due to its proximity to the airport, people from the districts come and stay here. They are briefed about the Saudi laws as well as the rituals to be performed during the pilgrimage, said a TSHC official.

Food arrangements will also be made for the pilgrims and their attendants. This year, 2,387 pilgrims have been selected from Hyderabad and 2,900 from districts for the pilgrimage. More than 1,200 are expected to be selected on standby due to possible cancellations from other states.

A TSHC official said that since the pilgrimage required a lot of walking, they urged the pilgrims to train themselves to walk at least 5 km daily.
