Police has arrested five people in this connection Early morning car blast in front of Sangameshwar temple In Kottamedu, Coimbatore on Sunday.
A senior police officer said the five people are suspected to be associates of Jamisha Mubeen (29), who was killed in the blast.
The five have been identified as Muhammad Thalka (25), Muhammad Azharuddin (23), Muhammad Rias (27), Firoz Ismail (27) and Muhammad Nawaz Ismail (27) of Ukkad, residents of GM Nagar near Ukkadam. Huh. They were arrested late Monday night.

During the investigation of the blast, the police found a surveillance camera footage showing Mubeen and a few others removing a heavy object wrapped in a white sack from the former’s residence on HMPR Street in Kottaimedu at around 11.30 pm on Saturday . Those arrested include those seen in the CCTV footage.
The accused reportedly told the police that they were helping Mubeen to shift between houses.
Reliable sources said Mr. Thalka was involved in arranging the car used by Mubeen, which exploded in front of the temple “due to LPG cylinder explosion” at 4 am on Sunday.
A search of Mubeen’s residence later in the day led to the seizure of materials including potassium nitrate, aluminum powder, sulfur and charcoal, which could have been used to make explosives.
