Five organizations fined for spreading pollution in UP’s Muzaffarnagar

Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board team fined 10 lakh on an industrial unit here for allegedly violating anti-pollution norms, officials said on Sunday.

During the investigation of many firms, the team led by UPPCB Regional Officer Ankit Singh imposed fine. 10 lakh on an industrial firm in Bannagar village, 50-50 thousand on two persons for keeping building material in the open, 25,000 on jaggery manufacturing unit and Rs. 5,000 on a person for burning garbage, he said.

Thus the total fine Officials said that a fine of 11 lakh 5 thousand has been imposed on five institutions in the district for spreading air pollution.

Meanwhile, officials said water sprinkling is being done on the roads and anti-smog guns have also been installed to control air pollution.

The UPPCB regional officer warned that strict action would be taken against those violating the anti-pollution norms in the district.
