Panaji: Goa University All the employees have been urged to follow punctuality in a circular. “It has been observed that some employees report late to the office and some are habitually late. This practice should be stopped with immediate effect,” said University Registrar Prof VS. nadkarni where did it go.
The working hours in the five-day week plan are a minimum of 40 hours per week where office hours are 9.30am to 1.15pm and 2pm to 5pm.

“There are occasions when some outside academicians, visitors, guests when they visit the administrative building of the university, it is observed that some employees are coming late to the office. Unpleasant remarks by such visitors are not in the interest of the University, thereby spoiling the public perception. Therefore, it is necessary that punctuality be made a regular habit by all the employees,” Nadkarni said. The circular also requested heads of teaching departments and deans of schools to ensure punctuality in case of non-teaching staff under their control.
The University has also requested the employees to appear immediately on the official telephone provided. “It is often observed that the official telephones provided to the section to the concerned officer or faculty are often not present and the voice message ‘phone switch off’ is experienced. This results in poor public perception of the organization,” reads the circular. .
About 200 telephone connections are available in different sections/divisions, departments, faculty blocks etc of the University and each faculty member and every officer is provided with a phone with a ten digit mobile number.
“The purpose of making telephones available for office use is for effective communication and efficiency within the administration of various departments such as examinations, academics, finance and general administration and to facilitate communication between teaching departments, schools and administration”.
In addition, telephone connections are provided to the superintendent level employees and a separate phone is also provided to the office in several departments and sections.
The registrar said that in case of non-functioning of charger or failure of equipment, the matter should be immediately reported to the purchase section to resolve the matter at the earliest.
