Food delivery executive arrested for harassing women online

The South East Division police on Wednesday arrested a 40-year-old food delivery executive for allegedly harassing women online for a year.

The accused, Purushottam, 40, a resident of Madiwala, was arrested on the basis of a central agency’s alert that the accused was dealing with child pornography. According to the police, the accused used to befriend and chat with women on social media and shared objectionable videos and pictures to harass them.

The accused had also used child pornographic material and the central agency that monitors child abuse cases online had flagged it and alerted the police.

He was booked under various sections of the IT Act and sent to judicial custody.
