Bareilly:
Police on Wednesday registered a case against the nephew of an Uttar Pradesh minister after he allegedly tried to ram his car into a group of restaurant employees after he refused to serve him.
According to the complaint, late on Tuesday night Amit Kumar Saxena abused the staff for failing to serve his colleague as the restaurant was closed. SP City Bareilly Rahul Bhati said that he returned at around 10.30 pm and tried to hit the employees who were eating outside the restaurant with his car.
The workers had to run to save their lives and the car destroyed a cot lying there.
Premnagar police station in-charge Inspector Meher Singh said that Premnagar police reached the spot after receiving the information, but by then the accused had fled from the spot.
According to the police, a case has been registered under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on the complaint of Sushant Kashyap, son of hotel owner Naresh Kashyap.
Kashyap, who claims to be a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker, complained that he was being treated like this by a ministerial member in the BJP government, adding that he would leave Bareilly.
He claimed that after the incident, he reached the minister’s place to complain but despite waiting for a long time, he was asked to come in the morning as the minister was said to be asleep.
The hotel guard also accused the minister’s nephew of trying to damage the hotel property thrice with his car.
