Islamabad: According to a video broadcast by PTV News, an Urdu news channel, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the food would be served soon after he was interrupted by the audience. An audience member stood up and shouted during Sharif’s speech on Monday while addressing a function regarding development projects for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, after which the PM said, “Please sit down, food will be served soon.”
According to the video, after a brief smile, the Pakistan PM resumed his speech.
Notably, PM Sharif was to lay the foundation stone for various upliftment communication, road, hydropower and electricity infrastructure projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.
At the function, the Prime Minister said, “These challenges may be manifold but the 220 million people of the country should not be worried, the coalition government with the support of its partners will lead the country out of the challenges.”

He said that they would have to work with full dedication to achieve progress and prosperity.
“Nations have always faced difficulties and the coalition government will take Pakistan on the path of development only through hard work,” he said.
The prime minister said he had laid the foundation stone for the launch of mega-development projects in backward areas of the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reports the Associated Press of Pakistan.
He mentioned that during his previous visits, these areas were inundated with flood water and people in the areas from Nowshera to Swat, Kalam, Kohistan, Dikhan and Tank districts had faced great devastation.
Talking about the situation in Swat, the PM said that the destruction is mainly due to man-made structures in the middle of the river. Sharif also criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) provincial government for its flawed policies.
