The last chief minister of the united Andhra Pradesh (AP), N. Kiran Kumar Reddy with Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, National General Secretary of the party Arun Singh and OBC Morcha National President K.K. Joined BJP in presence of Laxman.
A bitter critic of the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, whose views were apparently ignored by the Congress high command, Shri Kiran Kumar Reddy famously said that ‘no match is over till the last ball is bowled’ suggesting As an acclaimed batsman who played first-class cricket matches before entering politics, he would do his best to keep the state united.
Joining the BJP, Shri Kiran Kumar Reddy said that his family was in the Congress for the last seven decades, but found no reason to continue that legacy, feeling that the party could not make up for its mistakes even after losing. is learning power in one state after another while the BJP grew from strength to strength under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda.
He observed that the Congress party would not consult its rank and file and take decisions unilaterally and it was this attitude that brought down its dignity.
Shri Kiran Kumar Reddy said that he is impressed with the way BJP has risen to an influential position and is ready to take up any responsibility given to him.
It may be noted that Shri Kiran Kumar Reddy had resigned from the Congress before the split in June 2014 and founded his own Jai Samaikya Andhra Party (JSP). However, the JSP fared poorly in the 2014 elections and eventually had to be wound down.
After this he went back to the Congress party in 2018 and finally a few days ago he said goodbye to the Congress party. Prior to becoming the Chief Minister in late 2010, Shri Kiran Kumar Reddy served as the Chief Whip of the Government and Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.
