Exponent Energy, co-founded by Arun Vinayak, aims to simplify energy for electric vehicles
Former co-founder and chief product officer of Ather Energy, Arun Vinayak, has co-founded a new start-up to simplify energy for electric vehicles. The start-up, called Exponent Energy, aims to ease the flow of data, information and energy between EVs and the grid. Exponent Energy is founded by Vinayak along with his partner Sanjay Byalal Jagannath of Ather Energy. Both Vinayak and Byalal are alumni of the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Prior to embarking on the new journey to launch Exponent Energy, Byalal used to be the Hardware Strategic Sourcing and Sales Strategy Lead at Ather Energy.
Exponent Energy intends to create a flexible energy stack that will allow a seamless flow of energy and information between the grid and the electric vehicle. This will open up rapid charging for all types of electric vehicles.
Vinayak announced on social media, “What started as an idea soon became a vision to simplify energy for EVs. In this quest, I hit upon Sanjay Bayalal and we co-founded Exponent Energy. Established what we call the Flexible Energy Stack.” .

Vinayak also referred to his six-year long stint at Ather Energy, describing it as a time of “memories, learnings, product launches”. More information about Exponent Energy and its future course is expected to be announced and revealed in the coming months. There are already 6-7 investors backing the venture in Exponent Energy, which already has a website and is running with the tagline, “Simplifying Energy for EVs.”
