IT company Tech Mahindra on March 11 announced the naming of former Infosys chairman Mohit Joshi as MD and CEO, who will take over from CP Gurnani after his retirement on December 19 this year.
The announcement follows Mr. Joshi’s resignation from Infosys, where he was the head of the global financial services and healthcare and software businesses, including Finacle (Infosys’ banking platform) and the artificial intelligence and automation portfolio.
“Mohit will take over as MD and CEO upon the retirement of CP Gurnani on December 19, 2023. He will join Tech Mahindra before that date to allow sufficient transition time,” Tech Mahindra said in a statement.
Separately, Infosys said in a regulatory filing that Mr Joshi has resigned from the company. He will be on leave with effect from March 11, 2023 and his last date with the company will be June 9, 2023.
Mr. Joshi will succeed Mr. Gurnani who has been one of the longest serving CEOs of the Indian IT sector.
