Former Puducherry CM criticizes AINRC-led NDA government

V. Narayanasamy accused the government of failing to implement the announced schemes and hiding behind the model code of conduct

Former Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy has said that the All India NR Congress-led NDA was trying to hide its failure to implement the schemes by citing the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

In a virtual statement released to the media on Monday night, the senior Congress leader said that the MCC was not a hindrance in implementing the already announced plans. “The CM has failed to implement any of the plans announced in the assembly. He has announced several schemes in the House without taking the actual picture of the financial position. The Union Territory is facing a serious financial crunch. The officials are not cooperating, so the administration has come to a standstill.

Chief Minister N.K. for not organizing the Disaster Management Authority. Criticizing Rangasamy, Mr Narayanasamy said, as the authority’s chairman, he should have constituted the body to assess the preparedness for the northeast monsoon.

Criticizing the State Election Commissioner (SEC) Roy P. Thomas for his functioning, the former chief minister said the SEC should listen to the advice of the legislators and withdraw the MCC.

On the rising prices of petroleum products, the senior Congress leader said that the central government led by PM Modi is oblivious to the suffering of the people. The PM was not worried about the economic hardship being faced by the public due to the continuous increase in the prices of petrol and diesel. “It will soon come to a situation where people will have to pay ₹150 per liter for petrol and ₹140 for diesel,” he said.
