Formula E race in India: Hyderabad e-Prix confirmed for 2023 – Times of India

Not many major racing world championships have been held in India, except Formula 1 which started in 2011 and lasted till 2013 only. After F1, Formula E It will be the second biggest Racing World Championship to be held here. The country will now be back on the global map of motorsports with FIA Formula E in Hyderabad on 11 February 2023. The race is part of the championship’s ninth season, 2022–23.
The race to be held in Hyderabad was approved by the FIA ​​World Motor Sport Council and will be the fourth race after Mexico and a double-header in Saudi Arabia. A Letter of Intent (LoI) was signed between the Telangana government and the officials of Formula E in January this year.

The planned schedule for next season currently consists of 18 races between January and July 2023 on the street circuit in 13 world cities, breaking the previous record of 16 races in 10 different cities this season.
“The Season 9 calendar of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is our most detailed and dynamic racing schedule yet and I can’t wait to get started,” said Alberto Longo, Formula E Co-Founder and Chief Championship Officer.

Two major motorsport fanbases will welcome the E-Prix for the first time. The fourth round of the championship will take place on February 11 in Hyderabad, India, while fans from Brazil will watch the Sao Paulo E-Prix for round 7 on March 25.
Berlin remains the only city to host an E-Prix in all nine seasons of the championship, while Seoul and Jakarta will see a return to Formula E after this season’s inaugural race.
