Bokaro: There are four people Trapped after an abandoned Coal My Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) where they had gone inside for illegal mining collapsed.
The incident took place late on Friday evening at the Parbatpur coal block of Amalabad police post and a special unit of BCCL could not trace them even after 24 hours of the collapse. No formal complaint has been lodged with the police by the family members so far for fear of legal action. The incident came to light when some villagers informed their colleagues about the incident.
DC Kuldeep Kumar Choudhary said NDRF The team was called for rescue work.
SP Chandan Kumar Jha said, “We have suddenly received informal information that four people are trapped in the mine. BCCL has sent a rescue team. We are looking into the matter.”
Chandankyari’s local MLA Amar Bauri, other leaders and administrative officials have visited the spot to take stock of the situation. Bauri said, ‘I have informed the DC about the situation. He assured that the NDRF team will reach here on Sunday.

“The persons trapped inside could be Laxman Rajwar, Ravana Rajwar, Anadi Singh and Bharat Singh. His family members have told me that he was missing after the incident. Some villagers also claimed that they had heard his voice inside the mine.
The MLA said, “Whether they are involved in illegal activities is a secondary matter. The administration should first take serious steps to save their lives. A crack is visible at the spot, indicating subsidence.”
However, the DC said, “As of now, we do not have any clear information about the case. Whether any person is trapped inside or not is also not confirmed. BCCL’s rescue team is also unable to report on any findings.” We have handed over the operation to NDRF.”
