Surat: A four-year-old girl from Navagam locality of Dindoli died on Sunday after persistent vomiting and severe diarrhea. New Civil Hospital ,NCH) on Saturday. deceased hansika gautamThe family members told the doctors that the girl’s health deteriorated at around 4 am on Saturday.
He was first taken to a private hospital but his health did not improve and later he had to be shifted to the NCH where he died during treatment. Her father Suraj, a dying mill worker, said that their daughter had never had any other health complications before.
The girl initially complained of abdominal pain and later started suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea. As his condition continued to deteriorate, the parents decided to take him to the hospital.
“This is a case of acute gastroenteritis and the condition of the child may be critical due to dehydration. Children showing symptoms of gastroenteritis should be provided immediate medical help,” a health official told TOI.
“We will inquire as to in what condition the girl died. We are yet to investigate the matter in detail,” the official said.
Meanwhile, the health department Surat Municipal Corporation ,SMC) claimed that there has been no significant increase in water-borne or vector-borne diseases since the onset of monsoon.
