Thiruvananthapuram: A 35-year-old man has been sent to judicial custody by the district sessions court here for cheating him with money and gold on the pretext of marrying several women.
The court was considering the anticipatory bail plea of Rajesh alias ‘Appi’ Rajesh of Canikkara House at Altharamudu, Chirayinkizhu. The woman has alleged in her complaint that the accused cheated her of Rs 25 lakh and gold on the pretext of marriage. After learning that a case has been registered against him, the accused approached the court with a bail application.
The accused used to work as a driver in a private bus. Eight women regularly boarding his bus were duped by the man. Police have frozen Rs 22 lakh found in his bank account. news network
